Love Means…?

Prayer ~ Lord God, open my eyes and heart to the meaning of LOVE in my life…for You and for others. Thank you. Amen.

Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning. I say this because many deceivers have gone out into the world. They deny that Jesus Christ came in a real body. Such a person is a deceiver and an antichrist. Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked so hard to achieve. Be diligent so that you receive your full reward. Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son. 2 John 1:6-9

Meditate. What is love anyway?

Visual sign of God's Love...the Rainbow.
When I was in college there was a movie, “Love Story,” that came out with the famous line…love mean never having to say you are sorry. What?! Love is telling and showing someone you deeply care about them—and that would include wanting to tell them you are sorry for ever offending them. I think this is especially significant when considering loving God. It begins with saying, “I’m sorry, God” for the things I’ve done to offend You. That is the beginning of a very special and actually the most important relationship you could ever have. I hope you have that sort of relationship with God…and with others around you.

Many Jewish scripture passages use acrostics to convey their message. Have you ever considered an acrostic about love?

For God Loved the world so much that         He gave His One and only Son,

so that eVeryone who believes in Him will              not perish but have Eternal life. John 3:16

Think about it. God Loved His Only Son…and virtually everyone else, too, so that He made a plan for Eternal life for us all. Love eternally. Love God. Love Others.

Jesus was real…He is real. Don’t be deceived…led astray by some false teaching. Read the Bible for yourself. Find God…find that relationship with Him. It will be worth your time and effort. Give reading the Bible a 21-day trial. If you don’t feel like you’ve gained or learned after that…then stop reading it and find some other real reason for existence…for the love you desire. What does love mean….?

Verse of Salvation ~ But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, "God is great!" Psalm 70:4

Memory Verse of the Week ~ For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
