Love Forgives

Prayer ~ Father God, You have such a marvelous plan. Love. Forgiveness. Peace. All such good goals. It just feels so wonderful to know that I’m loved by You and chosen to be part of Your family. Family is so important here on earth. Will we know “family” in heaven—or will just being part of Your Family override any other relationships? I am so looking forward to Heaven—clothed with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Thank You for forgiving me and calling me to live in peace with other Christians. Amen.

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Colossians 3:12-15

Meditate. Focus on love, forgiveness, peace, and thankfulness.

Are you like Jesus' chosen disciples?
Are you...
merciful, kind, humble, gentle, and patient?

Chosen to be God’s holy people. What an honor! Yet God has expectations of us. We must clothe ourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. And we must make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Forgiveness is a big thing. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins—forgiving us for what we’ve done and how He had to suffer. Additionally, this forgiveness isn’t a free ride—we have to forgive others, not just a verbal “I’m sorry” with a shake of our heads like some four-year-olds might do. It must be from our hearts. It has to be done in love—living at peace with others.

We have so much for which to be thankful. The love of Christ is at the top of the list—and followed closely by the forgiveness that He offers. Our ability to forgive others is important. Without that capability, our lives would be sunk in misery, distress, loneliness, gloom, and despair. Christ forgave us…so we can likewise forgive others. Love forgives.
