Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ's blood on the cross. Colossians 1:15-20
Did people realize that Jesus was God…with skin on? He was certainly visible, but few realized that He was the Messiah. We just wish that we could still see him…now. Although there were no photographs and no voice recordings during Jesus’ time, we have His words in the Bible. We have His promises. One amazing promise is that everything created by Him and for Him…holds together…because of Him. Without that everything and everyone would go flying off or collapse into a pile of nothingness. He holds everything together, miraculously.
Jesus returned to Heaven in a cloud... and He will come to get the believers... in a cloud. Are you watching the clouds today? |
And God will raise us from the dead by his
power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead. 1 Corinthians 6:14
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want
you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not
grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and
was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will
bring back with him the believers who have died. We tell you this directly from
the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead
of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a
commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of
God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves.
Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will
be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with
the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words. 1 Thessalonians
4:13-18
It will be a glorious day. Just imagine yourself being caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. He holds everything together…and up in the air we go…like Peter Pan…only better. Will you be caught up in the clouds, too?
Prayer ~ Lord Jesus, You are so awesome. I can hardly imagine what it will be like being caught up in the clouds to meet You in the air. I have longed for that for almost fifty years. Will it really happen in my lifetime? What a day that will be. I’m still waiting and watching…and praying for more people to come to know You as their Lord and Savior every day. Come quickly, Lord.
Verse of Salvation ~ For God says, "At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you." Indeed, the "right time" is now. Today is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2
