Meditate. Focus on God. Thankfully.
Let the message about Christ, in all its
richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he
gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. Colossians
3:16
Wisdom is from God. He is the source and He
wants us to use His wisdom to tell others about Christ.
For God wanted them (God’s people) to know that the riches and glory of Christ
are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This
gives you assurance of sharing his glory. So we tell others about Christ,
warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We
want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. Colossians
1:27-28
Paul speaks about wisdom…as part of God’s
plan. Life may look complicated and mysterious…but God has a plan. Believe in
Him, in His power and give Him glory.
Yet when I am among mature believers, I do
speak with words of wisdom, but not the kind of wisdom that belongs to this
world or to the rulers of this world, who are soon forgotten. No, the wisdom we
speak of is the mystery of God—his plan that was previously hidden, even though
he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began. 1 Corinthians
2:6-7
Wake up.
Tell others about Christ.
Do you ever have an opportunity to tell
others about Christ? In this time of isolation we don’t see or interact with as
many people…as wearing a mask it is awkward to speak to others outside of our
own homes. But trust God. Ask Him to give you a chance to share Jesus with
someone…so that they may come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. That is
the one thing in life that really matters!
We can never be too thankful. Sing praises, psalms and even hymns to God…not just about Him…but to Him giving Him the glory and honor. Let your heart be thankful. Sing.
Prayer
~ Lord God, I pray for all people and ask You to help them, interceding on
their behalf, and giving thanks for them and for You. From 1 Timothy 2:1.
Verse of Salvation ~ As for us, we can't help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:13
Friday’s Feast at the King’s Table
As usual every Friday is Feast Day—Feasting at the King’s Table. We can’t live on just spiritual food…nor can we live on bread alone. We’ve got to have
some meat, veggies and fruit…and be thankful.
What are you planning to have for Thanksgiving dinner? One of my favorites in homemade cranberry sauce. My niece suggested using any extra cranberry sauce for a tasty addition to homemade scones. Sounds like a good idea to me.
Cranberry Sauce
1 bag -
12 ounce fresh cranberries
3 cups finely chopped pears (about 2 medium pears) or apples and pears
1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice with the zest of one orange
½ cup golden raisins or chopped fresh sweet grapes
1 cup sugar, or less to taste
3 tablespoons minced crystallized ginger (candied ginger)
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Cover and bring to a gentle boil
over a medium-low heat. Cook about 15 minutes. Uncover, reduce heat to a simmer
and cook about 5 minutes until sauce thickens. Transfer the sauce to a
heatproof serving dish and cool 10 minutes. Cover and refrigerate at least 1
hour before serving. Makes 3 cups. Serve with turkey, and then on turkey
sandwiches the next day.
