Praying for You

Mediate and pray.
Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. John 16:24.
If this flower brings you joy...
Jesus will bring you more joy!

Prayer is a powerful thing. God gives us the ability to access Him through our prayers—and He is all powerful, so that opens doors to more power for us. Jesus said…Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. John 16:24. Simply ask—pray.

For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. Colossians 1:9-12
Just as Paul wrote to the Colossians, I have not ceased to pray for you and ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Do you know that even if I don’t know you…I do pray for you as you read this blog? I ask God to bless you with understanding and wisdom…and joy as you apply His word to your life.

We want to be more like Jesus as we mature spiritually. Are you striving for that? How’s your progress? Who is holding you accountable? Find someone who is seeking to know Jesus more deeply and hold each other accountable as you walk in a manner worthy of the Lord. Jewish people have the custom of studying scripture in the presence of others—a haverim. The principle that Jesus told His disciples when He taught them about prayer can apply to anytime we are focusing on Jesus…Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. Matthew 18:19-20. Imagine that Jesus is with you now. We are gathered at our computers, studying His word, seeking to know Him better, and praying that He will bless us with answers to our earnest prayers. Jesus is here.

What verses have your children memorized? Teach them verses about prayer and teach them to pray.

Prayer ~ Lord, just as Your disciples asked..."Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples." – from Luke 11:1. I am eager to learn more about You, Lord, and to pray continually at a deeper level with You. You are an awesome God, forgive me for not having a good attitude…and for just wanting to hide away…to retreat from others. You want us to reach out and serve others…not retreat. Give us this day the spiritual food as well as the physical food that our bodies and souls need. Thank You for all You have done for us—Your obedience is beyond comprehension. Glory be to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

Verse of Salvation ~ Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. - Psalm 51:12
