Guard Your Heart

Heart issues. Think about it.
My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don't lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
Proverbs 4:20-23

Heart issues include cardiac diseases that results in death—the number one killer in the United States. Physical death. Consider spiritual death—life without God. We all make choices. Rejecting God results in a spiritual life that is bound for a lake of fire…the ultimate final death.

But you will be cursed if you reject the commands of the LORD your God and turn away from him and worship gods you have not known before. Deuteronomy 11:28

And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.  1 Chronicles 28:9

I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God's throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:12-15

Accepting God…through His Son Jesus Christ… results in Spiritual birth or Spiritual renewal in someone who already acknowledged Christ as their Savior. That makes for one happy heart.
The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. Psalm 51:17

A glad heart makes a happy face; a broken heart crushes the spirit. Proverbs 15:13

And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. Ezekiel 36:26
Spiritually renewed. A new heart and a new spirit.  Guard your heart…and give it to the Lord. How’s is your heart today?

Prayer ~ Dear Lord, You asked of Israel and of me, “What does the LORD your God require?” You require only that we fear the LORD our God, and live in a way that pleases You, and love You and serve You with all our hearts and souls. Deuteronomy 10:12

I have not kept the good news of your justice hidden in my heart; I have talked about your faithfulness and saving power. I have told everyone in the great assembly of your unfailing love and faithfulness. Psalm 40:10.

Thanks for the new heart which I am guarding even as I reveal my love for You to all. My heart is definitely glad.
