Promise of Purpose for Life

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embrace what God does for you as the best thing you can do for Him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:1-2 The Message

Do you ever think…What am I here on earth for? What can I give God…or do for Him? Paul tells us here that we need to give ourselves to God—not to get so hung up with life in the world of today…but to keep our focus on God. He will show us what He wants from us. But if our attention is on worldly stuff—on being entertained or fanatic about something besides God, we may miss what He has for us. Our spiritual life is what is important to God. Sure we have to live in this world—eat, sleep, work, live…but our focus is to be on God and His world—His life for us.

Can you do that? Let God help you—and Him give you the motivation for your life.

Prayer ~ Lord, let it be. Let my life be a pleasing sacrifice to You—giving me purpose in my life.
