How do you picture God? An old man with a
big white beard seated on a throne…or a younger, strong super human figure
striding about the heavens? How about a bird-like creature? Once again we read
scripture that suggests that God wears feathers. Remember Jesus talking to His
followers in Jerusalem… How often I have
wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath
her wings, but you wouldn't let me." Matthew 23:37.
So…like the Psalmist, I say to God… For You have been my help, and in the shadow
of Your wings I sing for joy. Psalm 63:7 NASB.
No matter what God looks like, the
important thing is that He has promised...I
will rescue those who love me…I will protect…I will answer…I will be with
them…I will rescue them…and give them my salvation. I WILL. God promised and He keeps His promises.
For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
You rule throughout all generations. The LORD always keeps His promises; He is
gracious in all He does. Psalm 145:13
The Lord always keeps His promises. What a promise for all who believe in
Him.
Prayer
~ Thank You, Lord God, that I believe in You and can trust You with any
troubles, sorrows, even joys—all of my life. You are my help—and I sing for
joy.
