Whom Do You Seek?

Judas then, having received the Roman cohort and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons. So Jesus, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, went forth and said to them, "Whom do you seek?" They answered Him, "Jesus the Nazarene." He said to them, "I am He." And Judas also, who was betraying Him, was standing with them. So when He said to them, "I am He," they drew back and fell to the ground. Therefore He again asked them, "Whom do you seek?" And they said, "Jesus the Nazarene." Jesus answered, "I told you that I am He; so if you seek Me, let these go their way," to fulfill the word which He spoke, "Of those whom You have given Me I lost not one." John 18:3-9

The year is half over—half of it is left ahead of us. Good time to evaluate where we’ve been and where we’re going. Life can go by so quickly and if we have no goals…we have no plans…we may go nowhere, without a cause…and fail. We don’t plan to fail…we fail to plan. Jesus asked the Romans and the Pharisees whom they were seeking. Who are you seeking? What are your plans for today, this week, this month, for the rest of this year? How does Jesus fit into your “plans” or does He?

RSVP:  Jesus is asking us who we’re looking for? Is it Him? How will you respond to Him today?

Prayer ~Jesus, You taught Your disciples and us to …seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and all these things (food, shelter, clothing—everything we need) will be provided. Matthew 6:33.  I am seeking You, Lord, with all my heart, mind, soul and strength. Please continue to reveal more of Yourself to me today.
