Jesus
responded, "You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the
world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say
is true."
John 18:37 NLT
Jesus said
over and over that He was telling the truth…that He is the truth. Jesus said…"I am the way, and the
truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John
14:6. So if we love Jesus…the truth, then we know that He is telling the truth
and that He is the King. Not just a king, but The King. King of
Kings and Lord of Lords. Here are two examples from Revelation about Jesus
being King.
These will wage war against the
Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of
kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful. Revelation
17:14 (John the
Baptist called Jesus “The Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” John 1:29.)
And on His robe and on His thigh
He has a name written, "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." Revelation
19:16
If you have
any doubts that Jesus is who He says He is, pray about it, and read the entire
book of John, one more time. Pray that God will show you the truth in His word
and that you will not only understand it, but that it will become real to you.
RSVP: Jesus is telling us that He is telling the truth. We
have to decide for ourselves if we believe that He is telling the truth and if He
is our King. How will you respond to Him today? Will you share the truth with
others?
Prayer ~ Jesus, reveal Yourself to me, to my family,
friend, and neighbors in a deeper way today. Show us truths about Yourself that
we can apply to our lives that we would become living, walking testimonies of
Your love and truth.
