Crucify the Son of God?

Then Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said, "Look, here is the man!"

When they saw him, the leading priests and Temple guards began shouting, "Crucify him! Crucify him!"

"Take him yourselves and crucify him," Pilate said. "I find him not guilty."

The Jewish leaders replied, "By our law he ought to die because he called himself the Son of God."

When Pilate heard this, he was more frightened than ever. John 19:5-8 NLT 

Crucify Him. Crucify my Jesus—my Lord? How could they…? He’s not guilty. He IS the Son of God—not just that He called Himself the Son of God. But the Jewish leaders didn’t believe Him. It was the plan of God…that Jesus, His Son, would die for the sin of the world. What a sacrifice!  

RSVP: God gave up His Son. How do you respond to that?

Prayer ~ Dearest God, You gave up Your Son. You loved the world so much that You gave up Your only Son so that whoever believes in Him would have eternal life…life with You and Jesus…forever. I praise You—and I believe in Jesus as Your Son.
