Judgment. There are a lot of verses concerning judgment in both the Old and New Testaments. Here are a few.
And Jesus said, "For judgment I came into this world, so that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind. John 9:39
And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.... John 16:8
For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment. James 2:13
The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer. ... For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 1 Peter 4:7, 17
But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. 2 Peter 3:7
By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. 1 John 4:17
...to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him. Jude 1:15
Everyone passes judgment on others, but the eternal spiritual judgment is pronounced by Christ Himself. We only have the choice of choosing Him and living to please Him...or not.
Honor. To give respect is to honor. Honor and judgment are linked in that when we honor God through Jesus Christ, we are honoring the Son, as the scripture of the day describes and we are ensuring that we will be judged as righteous by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
RSVP: Jesus will be the ultimate judge. How will you respond to honor Jesus today?
Prayer~ Lord Jesus, Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer. (Psalms 19:14)
