Do Not Go Away

And He was saying, "For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father." As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore. So Jesus said to the twelve, "You do not want to go away also, do you?" John 6:65-67

Among Solomon's wise words in Proverbs there is a verse that shows us some of the disciples' devotion …there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24. Some of Jesus’ followers were falling away—they couldn’t make a devoted commitment. Then there were the others that stuck close to Jesus—walked His path, followed His teachings and were devoted. So how is it with you? Are you devoted to Jesus and His teachings? Do you desire to learn more of Him every day? You do not want to go away, too, do you?

RSVP: Jesus is asking us today if we want to stick it out with Him or go away? What is your response to Him?

Prayer~ Lord Jesus, draw me close to You. Help me to see You more clearly and follow the straight and narrow path along which You are leading me. Help me to encourage my family, friends and neighbors to follow Your path, too.
