What Are Your Private Motives?

Prayer – Lord, help us to not judge others…at least not before You return. It is You Yourself who will judge me…and others. You see our inward hearts…and know our deepest, darkest secrets…our private motives. Show us the truths that You want us to understand…and help us to have a good relationship with You.

Now, a person who is put in charge as a manager must be faithful. As for me, it matters very little how I might be evaluated by you or by any human authority. I don't even trust my own judgment on this point. My conscience is clear, but that doesn't prove I'm right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide. So don't make judgments about anyone ahead of time—before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due. 1 Corinthians 4:2-5

Meditate. Consider judgment.

The day is done....
Let us rest as God did on the seventh day.
I am so tired.
Let me rest.

It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide. He will decide…He will judge me. Even now He knows my inner most thoughts and motives.

So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God's rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:9-12

So, rest now…just as God did on the day that He finished creation. Make choices that will please God. Those choices will likely reveal your inner most thoughts and influence your actions.

Verse of Salvation ~ For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17
