Prayer ~ Lord – You were such a good example—always doing something good for others—feeding them, healing them physically or spiritually, and even raising them from the dead. You were continually encouraging and challenging those around You. Even the Pharisees had to carefully consider what You said—whether they believed You or not. You did what was best for others.
So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do
it all for the glory of God. Don't give offense to Jews or Gentiles or the
church of God. I, too, try to please everyone in everything I do. I don't just
do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved.
1 Corinthians 10:31-33
Meditate. Consider God’s guidance in scripture. Read God’s
word and listen to what He is saying.
I’m a people pleaser. It has sometimes gotten me into
trouble—and often times just didn’t get me noticed the way I wanted to be
noticed—even as a child. Mostly, I don’t just do what is best for me—but like
Paul wrote to the church at Corinth, I try to do what is best for others—hoping
that ultimately, they will choose Jesus…and thus be saved. My goal could be
considered to go to heaven and take as many people with me as possible. I think
that is admirable, don’t you? If you were an unsaved person, would you be glad
that someone is doing something to guide you in God’s word…in scripture? Actually,
I think that most unsaved people are just clueless about spiritual things,
about Jesus and eternal life—at is why they are unsaved. Above all, they need
prayer. We all need prayer, but the lost are particularly vulnerable.
Verses of Salvation ~ As for us, we can't help but thank
God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always
thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation
that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the
truth. He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can
share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14Salvation through the Spirit
Memory Verse of the Week ~ The LORD is my light and
my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me
from danger, so why should I tremble? Psalm 27:1
