Home Sweet Home

Prayer – Thank You, Lord, for the security, mercy, and compassion…and for the home You provide for each of us…and the home You are preparing for us in Heaven.

LORD, look down from heaven; look from your holy, glorious home, and see us. Where is the passion and the might you used to show on our behalf? Where are your mercy and compassion now? Surely you are still our Father! Even if Abraham and Jacob would disown us, LORD, you would still be our Father. You are our Redeemer from ages past. LORD, why have you allowed us to turn from your path? Why have you given us stubborn hearts so we no longer fear you? Return and help us, for we are your servants, the tribes that are your special possession. Isaiah 63:15-17

Meditate.

There is no place like home! Jesus didn’t have a “home” as we know it while He was here on earth, but He knew the value of a home even as He said…

But Jesus replied, "Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head." Luke 9:58

We have our homes—where we hopefully feel secure and loved here on earth. Someday our home will be in heaven. Isaiah wrote about God’s holy, glorious, heavenly home. Jesus promised that there is room for us in His Father’s home in this familiar passage that is often quoted at funeral and memorial services. Trust Him. There will be room for you…if you believe.

Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. John 14:1-3

Trust in God…trust in Jesus.

Verses of Salvation ~ For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, 'The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.' There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved." Acts 4:11-12
