Are You “Settling” for Something?

Prayer – Lord – I don’t want to settle for less than the best—and You are the best of the best—King of kings, Lord of lords.

"A host always serves the best wine first," he said. "Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!" John 2:10

Meditate. Consider God’s guidance in scripture. Read God’s word and listen to what He is saying.

Do you settle for less than the best? Have you done this all of your life? You settled for playing baseball when you wanted to play football or run cross-country. You settled for particular friends—because the popular kids were out of your league. You settled for going to a Junior College…or in state school rather than a bigger school further away from home…just to save your folks money. You settled for a particular major in college rather than what you wanted…just to please someone else. You may have settled for flipping burgers instead of attending college at all. What did you settle for?

With Jesus, you don’t have to settle for anything short of the best. He is the best—the greatest and He wants you on His team. Don’t settle for anything less. Choose Jesus—choose life everlasting. Keep the best forever.

Verses of Salvation ~ So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Don't give offense to Jews or Gentiles or the church of God. I, too, try to please everyone in everything I do. I don't just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved. 1 Corinthians 10:31-33

Memory Verse of the Week ~ The LORD is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? Psalm 27:1
