Think About Things That are Excellent—Not Evil

Meditate.

Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but  only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Revelation 21:27

Heaven is going to be a wonderful place! Those words are even lyrics in a children’s song. But Jesus told John, as he was writing Revelation, that nothing evil will be allowed to enter heaven. How wonderful is that?! Heaven is a place of purity and that is perfect. Only the pure can be in the presence of God Almighty. John assures us that only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be entering Heaven. Pure, honest, true, noble, good, fair…keep not only thinking those things, but live them. Put them into practice, just as Paul wrote to the church at Philippi.

Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me--everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:7-9

Live in joy and peace—time is short. Can you share the joy of the Lord with others today?

The Lord is coming soon...
...just as He went in the clouds.
Where will you be?
Are you prepared for His return?

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Philippians 4:4-5

Prayer ~ Lord God, I look forward to everlasting joy with You. Just as You wrote through Isaiah…You will be called priests of the LORD, ministers of our God. You will feed on the treasures of the nations and boast in their riches. Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. Isaiah 61:6-7

Verse of Salvation ~ I am overwhelmed with joy in the LORD my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom in his wedding suit or a bride with her jewels. Isaiah 61:10
