Are You Patiently Waiting or Waiting Patiently?

 Meditate.

When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah's day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn't realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. ...So you, too, must keep watch! For you don't know what day your Lord is coming. Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would keep watch and not permit his house to be broken into. You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.   Matthew 24:37-39, 42-44 (Underlined for emphasis.)

Are you ready? Are you still waiting…patiently? We are waiting now…for the return of Jesus Christ and for Him to call His church home to Heaven in the Rapture. There is a controversy on who will be raptured and when. If you are interested you can check out different veiwpoints on YouTube. But still we wait. So many Bible scholars and teachers say that the Rapture could happen anytime since Israel is in its homeland and has been for more than seventy years. Most people just go on living…day to day…just like people did during Noah’s time. Everyone loves parties and reasons to celebrate—even during this COVID time. Parties and large gatherings have been some of the major spreaders of the virus, but that doesn’t stop others from enjoying parties, banquets and weddings—just like at Noah’s time.

Does that give us a clue? Be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected. Will the Rapture happen during one of the Jewish Festivals, since previous fulfillment of prophesy was during Jewish Festivals, like Passover and First Fruits? What time is the time that is least expected? It is better not to focus on an exact time for the Rapture…but to focus on the reason. Believers will be the ones that will be called up to Heaven. The dead in Christ will rise first, and then those who remain will be transformed…glorified and taken up into heaven. What a glorious day that will be. Keep watch. It may happen still during our lifetime. Are you waiting patiently…or patiently waiting?

Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord's return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near. James 5:7-8

Prayer ~ Lord God, I take courage in the hope I have in You, Jesus, that You have promised that You will return. You have told us to be ready—and so I strive everyday to seek You first and to be ready—not only for Your return, but also to give an account to anyone who asks about the hope I have in You.

Verses of Salvation ~ Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, "I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!" Jesus responded, "Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost." Luke 19:8-10
