Meditate.
When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah's day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn't realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. ...So you, too, must keep watch! For you don't know what day your Lord is coming. Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would keep watch and not permit his house to be broken into. You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected. Matthew 24:37-39, 42-44(Underlined for emphasis.)
Jesus told His disciples to be ready all the time. That was almost two thousand ago. Were they ready?
Jesus is the light of the world... not just the Messiah of Jerusalem... or just the Savior of the United States. |
People during Noah’s time were partying right up to the time the rain began. They weren’t ready for the flood—because they didn’t believe. They certainly were not the righteous people that God wanted. Compare that age and spiritual attitude to today. Are there righteous people now who believe that Jesus is the Messiah of the world—that He can be their personal savior? Do you believe in Jesus? What will you be doing when the Son of Man returns? Is your spiritual "house" in order?
What are you doing to be ready?
Prayer ~ Lord, help me to clearly see what I need to be doing to “be ready” for Your return—for that time when You snatch Your believers up to heaven. You said that You, the Son of Man, will come when least expected. If I am ready all the time…then I am ready.
Verse of Salvation ~ And
through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this
salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. 1
Peter 1:5
