Winepress is Full

Meditate.

Come quickly, all you nations everywhere. Gather together in the valley. And now, O LORD, call out your warriors! Let the nations be called to arms. Let them march to the valley of Jehoshaphat. There I, the LORD, will sit to pronounce judgment on them all. Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread the grapes, for the winepress is full. The storage vats are overflowing with the wickedness of these people. Thousands upon thousands are waiting in the valley of decision. There the day of the LORD will soon arrive. Joel 3:11-14

Thousands will be waiting in the Valley of Decision…for the Day of the Lord. Joel was a prophet writing in about 835 BC prophesying about the end times. God is going to judge the people there in the Valley of Jehoshaphat. Of course, it will be the wicked that will be judged, not the righteous.

There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God's one and only Son. John 3:18

Tread the grapes
Mosaic in Israel
The winepress storage vats are overflowing—so many wicked people.

Everyone has a choice. They can choose to believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior or they can choose not to believe. The unbelieving are the wicked ones who will go through Judgment. Thousands will be waiting. The great thing is that thousands will pass by Judgment since the blood of Jesus washed away their sins when they repented and chose to believe in Him as their Savior.

Where will you be when that Day of the Lord comes? Gathered in the Valley…or in the arms of Jesus, covered by His blood? Forgiven.

Prayer ~ Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. Matthew 6:9-13

Verses of Salvation ~ A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity-- all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. Acts 2:43-47

Friday’s Feast at the King’s Table
My Mom always served simple meals, but she had a few great gourmet recipes that she compiled with her Legionnaire group. Here’s one that I remember her fixing.

Salmon Soufflé
1 lb. salmon, canned
2 eggs, separate yolks and whites. Beat egg whites.
1 Tbsp onion, chopped fine
1 Tbsp chopped parsley
1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice

White sauce:
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp flour
Shake of fresh ground pepper
¼ tsp salt
1 cup milk

Melt butter, blend with flour. Add milk and stir until thick. Pour gradually over beaten egg yolk. Let cool. Add parsley, onion and lemon juice to the salmon. Then combine with white sauce and fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into a buttered baking dish. Bake, uncovered, one hour 15 minutes at 325 degrees.
