Protected by Armor

Meditate.

But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:8-11

Live by the light…those who are following Christ’s way…allowing His light to guide us. Be clearheaded…in this day and age it may take some real effort to think clearly. With the influence of the COVID-19 isolation so many people are upset, stressed or so depressed that they just are just fuzzy brained, not thinking clearly. I find that we are just going through the days doing what we have to…eat, sleep, clean, shop for food as necessary, exercise when possible, read and watch Netflix. Some are engrossed in sporting event telecasts. Life is just going on…day by day. We need to be sure to include Paul’s teaching to encourage each other and build each other up. Think of others and give them hope.

Put on all of the armor of God…to resist the efforts of satan to discourage us. Notice that these verses below say all of God’s armor.

Angels will fight for us,
but we need to be prepared and
put on all of God's armor.
Stay alert and pray!

Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be e to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Ephesians 6:10-18

Get totally dressed in God’s armor. Don’t forget any piece of it. Be protected by God's armor.

Prayer ~ Lord God, I am praying once again…and asking you for Your help for Christians around the world who are suffering persecution—and especially for relief from anxiety, depression and stress associated with the COVID-19 situation. Have mercy on us, Lord. Come quickly, Jesus.
