What Will It Take for You to be Saved?

Meditate. Consider the consequences of your actions.

Stand in silence in the presence of the Sovereign LORD, for the awesome day of the LORD's judgment is near. The LORD has prepared his people for a great slaughter and has chosen their executioners. "On that day of judgment," says the LORD, "I will punish the leaders and princes of Judah and all those following pagan customs. Yes, I will punish those who participate in pagan worship ceremonies, and those who fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit." Zephaniah 1:7-9

The Day of Judgment is coming. How many times is that prophesied in the Bible?

At least thirty-four times depending on the translation. It is a real thing. That day will come and some people may not be ready for it. Of course, those who have already died can’t make any decisions…any choices that will affect their eternal life. But those who are living have the opportunity for an everlasting choice.

Like this little boy in an Israeli orphanage,
do you need to consider others feelings?
Can you think of others
as better than youself?

Stand in silence. Stand in the presence of the Lord. Standing signifies respect for the Lord…or others. Consider even now how true gentlemen stand when a lady, or a political leader, whether it is someone with the title of King or Queen, President or Prime Minister, enters a room. Respect shows consideration and humility. Think of others as better than yourself.

Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Philippians 2:3

Let the whole world fear the LORD, and let everyone stand in awe of him. Psalm 33:8

Don’t wait until Judgment Day has arrived before you stand respectfully before the Lord. Examine your life once more. Those who participate in pagan worship ceremonies and those who are violent and deceitful will be punished. There are consequences for one’s actions. Now is the time to repent—to turn away from your sin. God is a just and righteous god. There will be no escaping His judgment.

Prayer ~ Lord, Let the whole world respect, fear You, LORD, and let everyone stand in awe of You. Psalm 33:8. I stand in awe of You.

Verse of Salvation ~ Then he brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household." And they shared the word of the Lord with him and with all who lived in his household. Acts 16:30-32

This occurred when Paul and Silas were in jail in Philippi and a great earthquake occurred, opening the doors of the prison house, breaking the chains and setting the captives free. Paul and Silas didn’t run off and because of God’s actions the jailer and his family were saved. Will it take an earthquake to get you to believe in Jesus as your Savior? It may be too late then, so don’t wait another day.

Happy Birthday, Evelyn.
