God Will Hear Me

Meditate.

How miserable I am! I feel like the fruit picker after the harvest who can find nothing to eat. Not a cluster of grapes or a single early fig can be found to satisfy my hunger. The godly people have all disappeared; not one honest person is left on the earth. They are all murderers, setting traps even for their own brothers. Both their hands are equally skilled at doing evil! Officials and judges alike demand bribes. The people with influence get what they want, and together they scheme to twist justice. Even the best of them is like a brier; the most honest is as dangerous as a hedge of thorns. But your judgment day is coming swiftly now. Your time of punishment is here, a time of confusion. Don't trust anyone--not your best friend or even your wife! For the son despises his father. The daughter defies her mother. The daughter-in-law defies her mother-in-law. Your enemies are right in your own household! As for me, I look to the LORD for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. Micah 7:1-7 (Underlined for emphasis.)

With our isolation due to the COVID-19 we may feel like the godly people have all disappeared. Now that people are beginning to be allowed to go to church again there they are…in church, distancing themselves and wearing masks. The Rapture hasn’t happened…the godly haven’t really disappeared. Since everyone is wearing masks—we can’t see their smiling faces. I never realized how encouraging smiles are—or were. My smile may have been encouraging to others too. I always tried to smile at others in the grocery stores…just to be encouraging. Now my smile doesn’t show from underneath my mask. Shopping can be a very disheartening experience…especially at the beginning of this pandemic when the shelves were often bare of essential products. Now everything we need is available. Hopefully, that will continue as we get into the winter season or we will just have to adjust our diet to what is available…and maybe start growing some sprouted seeds. At any rate, God has not forgotten His recipe for manna—that wonderful food He provided to the Israelites in the desert as they journeyed to the Promised Land. He will hear us…if we call on the Lord for help. He fed the Israelites when they cried out for help.

Here is a verse of assurance for believers…but not for sinners.

We know that God doesn't listen to sinners, but he is ready to hear those who worship him and do his will. John 9:31

Where do you stand with God? Will He listen to you?

Prayer ~ Lord God, thank you for the assurance that You will hear us as we wait confidently for You to save us. You are an awesome God—with a mighty plan for the future…for eternity.

Verse of Salvation ~ Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give fruit from the tree of life in the paradise of God. Revelation 2:7

Will you listen to the Spirit and will you receive fruit from the tree of life?
