No Sin? Really?

Memory Verse this week…
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:9

In context
If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. 1 John 1:8-10

No sin…really? How could anyone not see that they have sin in their life? A bit holier than thou attitude or just plain arrogance must rule in their hearts. Next time you are out and about…look at the general population…they don’t seem to be a happy group of people. I think there are a lot of people out there with low self-esteem. Generally they are down on themselves—for not meeting their own expectations. Fancy car, name-brand or a good replica in their clothing style, the latest and greatest cell phone, and more electronic equipment in their home or apartment than they can use at one time—these are all things that drive their egos. But those aren’t the things that matter…and they may even be things that draw one into sin. Be careful where those electronics and internet connections take you. Light porn can entice a person into a deeper and deeper dark hole of corruption. Into sin.

Jesus is the light of the world.
Don’t let yourself be drawn into that dark hole…seek the light. Jesus told us that He is the light of the world.
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life." John 8:12
We don’t have to walk in darkness…but when we stumble we do need to confess our sin.
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
What a great promise. Keep your account short…confess as soon as you realize that you have sinned. We never know when our last breath is our last breath.

Prayer ~ Jesus… I confess to You that I have sinned today…not doing what I should have done…and thinking with an attitude that I know is not pleasing to you. Thank You for being faithful and just to forgive me for my sins and to cleanse me from all wickedness.
