Faithful...God and Us

Memory Verse this week…
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:9

Faithful. God is faithful. He is trustworthy.
He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is! Deuteronomy 32:4

God's Spirit will rescue me.
I entrust my spirit into your hand. Rescue me, LORD, for you are a faithful God. Psalm 31:5

So the LORD must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help. Isaiah 30:18

God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Corinthians 1:9
Consider this last verse more in the context in which it was written—from Paul to the church at Corinth—considering that now those people were followers of Christ.
I always thank my God for you and for the gracious gifts he has given you, now that you belong to Christ Jesus. Through him, God has enriched your church in every way--with all of your eloquent words and all of your knowledge. This confirms that what I told you about Christ is true. Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns. God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.     1 Corinthians 1:4-9
God wants to draw us to Himself, to bring us back to Him. He wants us to be faithful to Him…as He is faithful to us.
All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him. 2 Samuel 14:14 NLT
So, we are to be faithful to God—He is our Rock, our Redeemer, our Rescuer, our Lord and Savior. He is King of Kings. As my King, I will be loyal to Him forever. Like those people in Corinth, I eagerly await the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer ~ Lord, help us to be faithful to You. Thank you for forgiving us...and continuing to forgive us. We're just human and we continue to mess up, but You are faithful.
