If We Confess…

Memory Verse this week…
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:9

Confession is something that God has expected from the earlier times. He set rules for the children of Israel to follow that gave them directions on what to do not just IF they sinned…but WHEN then sinned. Confessing is agreeing with God about sin.
When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin. Leviticus 5:5

Don't gossip...confess your own sins to God.
Solomon wrote about the wisdom of confessing one’s sin in Proverbs, similar to what James wrote. It is important to confess one’s sin to others…and to God. Consider the power of prayer…prayer for each other, which is part of bearing one another’s burdens.
People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy. Proverbs 28:13

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5:16

If we confess our sins to him…. Are you willing to admit that you have sinned? God is always listening…He is faithful and merciful.

Prayer ~ Jesus…once again I humbly come before You admitting that I have not lived up to Your standards and expectations. Please forgive me and give me the courage and strength to do You as You would do.
