The Right Path to What You Say and Do

Memory Verse this week…
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6

Do you need to be shown things that God wants you to do? Which path to take? Where to go…what to say? There are a couple of verses that give us promises in those areas. One deals with temptation—something we all face. Another deals with what to say when we are confronted in court…but that can be anytime we are faced with opposition. We may need to be shown what path to take…and God has a plan. Remember He is faithful. God has promised to always be with us…and He will guide us in what to say…just like He did for Moses.
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. 1 Corinthians 10:13

And when you are brought to trial in the synagogues and before rulers and authorities, don't worry about how to defend yourself or what to say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what needs to be said. Luke 12:11-12

Then the LORD asked Moses, "Who makes a person's mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say." Exodus 4:11-12

The right path. The right words. Just as Elijah heard God speak…listen closely for God’s guidance in a still small voice—a quiet whisper.
"Go out and stand before me on the mountain," the LORD told him. And as Elijah stood there, the LORD passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. 1 Kings 19:11-12
That gentle whisper was the Lord. Can you hear Him today? Be still and know that He is God. We need a quiet time every day to listen to God…to hear Him calling to us…directing us to the right path.
