Key word for the blessing today is merciful.
God Himself is merciful—compassionate and showing kindness. The LORD is gracious and merciful; Slow to
anger and great in lovingkindness. Psalms 145:8. We are advised by Jesus to
be like God the Father. Be merciful, just
as your Father is merciful. Luke 6:36. People over and over asked Jesus to
have mercy on them…several blind men, the Canaanite woman, and the father of
the demon possessed young man. Do you ever wish for someone to show you mercy…or
has anyone asked you for mercy…for compassion? The merciful man does himself good, but the cruel man does himself
harm. Proverbs 11:17. To show mercy and compassion is a good trait—admirable
and even virtuous.
RSVP: Jesus is offering you mercy today. He has a
generous supply—an eternal supply. How will you respond to Him today?
Prayer ~ Jesus, just as Mary said
to Elizabeth…and His mercy is upon generation after generation toward those who
fear Him. Luke 1:50. May Your mercy be not only upon me, but also on my
children and grandchildren—for we have a deep love and respect for You—You are
our King, our Savior, our Creator, Comforter, and Friend. Thank You, Heavenly
Father, for caring enough for us that in the Your mercy You gave Your only Son that we could
all live with You…one day—forever. I praise You.
