Prayer – Lord God, thank you foe all You have done for me, for my family, friends, and neighbors. You are awesome. Thank you for bringing wonderful people into my life that are filled with the Holy Spirit and bring joy, love, encouragement, truth and knowledge to me…and others!
I cry out to God; yes, I shout. Oh, that God would listen to me! When I was in deep trouble, I searched for the Lord. All night long I prayed, with hands lifted toward heaven, but my soul was not comforted. I think of God, and I moan, overwhelmed with longing for his help.
Interlude You don't let me sleep. I am too distressed
even to pray! I think of the good old days, long since ended, when my nights
were filled with joyful songs. I search my soul and ponder the difference now.
Has the Lord rejected me forever? Will he never again be kind to me? Is his
unfailing love gone forever? Have his promises permanently failed? Has God
forgotten to be gracious? Has he slammed the door on his compassion?
Interlude And I said, "This is my fate; the Most
High has turned his hand against me." But then I recall all you have done,
O LORD; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my
thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works. O God, your ways are
holy. Is there any god as mighty as you? You are the God of great wonders! You
demonstrate your awesome power among the nations. By your strong arm, you
redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph.
Interlude When the Red Sea saw you, O God, its waters
looked and trembled! The sea quaked to its very depths. The clouds poured down
rain; the thunder rumbled in the sky. Your arrows of lightning flashed. Your
thunder roared from the whirlwind; the lightning lit up the world! The earth
trembled and shook. Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the
mighty waters—a pathway no one knew was there! You led your people along that
road like a flock of sheep, with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds. Psalm
77:1-20Isaac's Lego creatin of Crossing the Red Sea
Meditate. How can you stop thinking about God’s mighty works?
Begin by considering how God guided the Israelites through trials and
tribulations from Egypt back to the Promised Land. Won’t He do the same for
you?
Yesterday I went to a memorial service for a truly wonderful Christian lady who loved God with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength…and she loved everyone—just as if they were Jesus Himself. We all want to be loved. Reminiscing through the testimonies of family and friends of our sweet Dorothy, I could see the twinkle in her eyes—so full of fun, truth, and pure love…and I could hear that laugh and giggle of hers. Precious! God blessed so many people through her. She was a great prayer warrior—so I’m sure there will be some in heaven who would not have been there without her pleading to the Lord. Our God is a wonderful, merciful God. Although Dorothy is not with us anymore, we know that she is in the very presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…whispering her prayers directly into His ear. What a lovely thought. Giggle! She carried each family member, friend, acquaintance—even waitresses, bankers, and clerks—in her heart. Actually, she was continually in the presence of the Lord…and took all of us along with her, bringing heaven into every moment of life. Her favorite verse…like several others that I know…was Psalm 118:24.
This is the day the
LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
Rejoice! Every day is the day that the Lord created to bring
honor to our Heavenly Father. Can’t you just imagine how Jesus welcomed her
into heaven? Open arms and a big smile on His face. If you believe in Him as
your Savior, trust Him with your life, and willingly serve Him for the rest of
your life, you will get that same hearty welcome when your life here in your earthly
body ends. Heaven is a wonderful place. Keep smiling—keep laughing—keep serving—keep
praying. I’ll see you in Heaven one day, too. Blessings—dear ones, wherever
you are. Remember our God of Wonder!

Verses of Salvation ~ We know that God, who raised the
Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together
with you. All of this is for your benefit. And as God's grace reaches more and
more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and
more glory. That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our
spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and
won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs
them and will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see now;
rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see
now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. 2
