Honor the Lord

Memory Verse:
Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. Proverbs 3:9-10

Honor the Lord. There are 71 verses in the New Living Translation using the words “Honor the Lord.” Honor is associated with heaviness in Biblical translations. It is also translated as giving glory or making someone honorable.
Honor the LORD for the glory of his name. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness. Psalm 29:2.

Glorify the Lord. Give Him honor and respect. Can you imagine the splendor and majesty of God? He is Holy and worth of our honor.

Prayer ~ Jesus, Thank You for continuing to give us lessons by which to live. There are so many facets to life that keep us in awe. May we continually honor You and rejoice in all that You have done for us as we anticipate the day of Your return.

Friday’s Feast at the King’s Table
Tomatillos are one of the coolest looking vegetables growing in the garden. Their green papery skins are intriguing and make you wonder just what is hiding inside. It looks similar to a tomato—but it is not. What is it… how do you eat it…what does it taste like…what do you do with it? I’ve found that tomatillos don’t taste like tomatoes. They have a sort of lemony taste and are crunchy when raw. One way to eat them is in Chili Verde – a pork or beef stew with nopalitos cactus leaves, or you can chop them up into a green salsa. Enjoy exploring more of God’s great creations as you feast on tasty tomatillos.

Tomatillo Salsa - Makes about 1 cup
8 tomatillos, peeled, stewed
2 scallions, halved
½ jalapeño pepper, halved, seeded, more or less to taste
1 garlic clove, peeled
1 teaspoon lime juice
½ cup fresh cilantro
½ teaspoon salt

Place all ingredients into a blender container and fasten the lid tightly.
Turn machine on and slowly increase speed. Blend for 15 seconds or just until chopped. If necessary, use tamper to push the ingredients into the blades while processing. Do not liquefy, just chop finely.

Serve as a dip or as an accompaniment with tacos, burritos or enchiladas.
