Are Your Barns Full?

Memory Verse:
Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. Proverbs 3:9-10

Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.
Prosperity promise. If you do this…honor the Lord…then He will bless you. Some people have made a ministry of that promise and duped a lot of people via television ministry. Faith healers and the like. There is power in the Lord—that is where power originates. It is there alright—I believe in the power of God—to bless, heal and protect. Get money—your wealth—involved and people show their true values. I know people who have turned their backs on the church and on God because the church demanded that they tithe…or at least give a certain amount. If you love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength—you love God. You don’t walk away from Him. Life if funny—but people who turn their backs on God won’t be laughing when the chips are down and the church is rising to heaven.
Grain storage near Rosalia, Washington

It is harvest time—lots of granaries are full. Farmers are working overtime. That is what farmers do during harvest time. When the grain and the fruits are ripe they have to work quickly and long hours to bring their crops into their storage warehouses and get them to market. Long days. Up at dawn and working into the night. I admire farmers’ stamina. Those who were affected by the flooding in the Midwest states are looking at barns that aren’t quite full this year. Their ground may be still flooded or soggy and they couldn’t grow any crops. Did they honor God with their wealth when they had good years? How will God’s promise sustain them? It is easy to see that the flooding and the farming situation could economically and physically impact our nation and our world. Here’s the point we have to trust the Lord.

Prayer ~ Lord, we put our trust in You that You would direct our paths in life as promised in Proverbs 3:5-6. Open our eyes and hearts that we would see and understand what Your will is for us today. Help the farmers and each of us to make good decisions…and to honor you in all that we do.
