Can We Have Integrity Without Wisdom?

For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice, and He preserves the way of His godly ones. Then you will discern righteousness and justice and equity and every good course. Proverbs 2:6-9 NASB

God stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity…. What does it mean to have integrity?  A completeness, an innocence or simplicity, truthfulness, upright or perfect. There is a local car dealer that always has “Integrity” in their ads. Integrity in everything they do, so that whether you purchase a new or used car from them—you know that you are getting a good, honest deal. Is that possible with a car purchase? We’d all like to think so. Does that car dealer have wisdom and integrity? God’s promise here through Solomon’s writing in Proverbs 2 is wisdom and protection…a shield against what…the flaming arrows of the enemy? This promise is to those who are “upright”…those who are faithful to Him.
Walk Upright
Are your feet walking the same direction--with integrity?

So, are you faithful to God? Are you drifting through life or are you taking responsibility for your thoughts, words and actions—using the resources that God has provided for you? Have you been seeking God’s wisdom in His Word… For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding…?

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33.

It all boils down to God…seek Him first in your life. Live in a way that pleases Him—and ask Him for wisdom as you read and study His Word. Be faithful.

Prayer ~ Lord God, thank you for Your promise that you’ll never leave us or forsake us…and that You store up wisdom for the righteous. You are an awesome God…and I praise You.
