Daniel was an amazing Jewish man—taken into
captivity in Babylon when he was just a teenager, he lived the rest of his life
worshiping His God—our God—while serving the kings of his captors. God gave him
such wisdom, for the interpretation of kings’ dreams and for astonishing
visions concerning prophesies that are yet to come. King Nebuchadnezzar
recognized that the spirit of the holy god—The Holy Spirit—was in Daniel. The
king had sent Daniel’s friends into a fiery furnace that would have instantly killed
them—but instead with they walked about in the furnace with a fourth man. Was
it Christ or an angel? Nebuchadnezzar himself call those men out of the fiery
furnace and praised their God, because they put their trust in their God. He
even decreed that no one in his kingdom should speak offensively against this
Most High God. Do you ever speak or even think offensively against our God? For as he thinks within himself, so he is. Proverbs
23:7. As a person thinks…not as they “say”…is the key here. God knows our
thoughts. The LORD knows the thoughts of
man, that they are a mere breath. Psalm 94:11. Keep your thoughts pure and
holy before the Lord…and you will be recognized by others as having the Spirit
of God—the Holy Spirit within you, like Daniel.
Prayer
~ Holy Spirit, may others see You in me…and may they seek and love You with all
their heart, soul and mind.
