Rebellious?

"Woe to the rebellious children," declares the LORD, "Who execute a plan, but not Mine, and make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, in order to add sin to sin…."Isaiah 30:1.

Rebellion is one of the worst traits to have. Stiff necked and selfish. But they (the Israelites) refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears from hearing. Zechariah 7:11. The Israelites had such heritage of God’s compassion, His forgiveness and grace. He led them out of Egypt to His promised land and bestowed them with the honor of His knowledge and grace…but they continued to be rebellious. In cycles over and over they obeyed and then they didn’t. Because they were rebellious against His Spirit, He spoke rashly with his lips. Psalm 106:33 –The Israelites were rebellious against God, not following His directions, and worshipping false idols. That really agitated the Lord God. After all He had done for them…couldn’t they just accept what He’d done and be obedient? So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day. 1 Kings 12:19
The prophets tried to direct the Israelites throughout their history—like this example in Ezekiel. "You shall say to the rebellious ones, to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Enough of all your abominations, O house of Israel….” Ezekiel 44:6. Enough of abominations…rebelliousness!

In the New Testament we see Paul teaching to the church in a letter to Timothy when he was in Ephesus.
But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions. But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted. 1 Timothy 1:5-11
Rebellion. They were in an alliance together against God. Have you made an alliance with like-minded friends and family—for or against God?

Prayer ~ Holy Spirit, take away the rebellious spirit within me…and fill me with Your love and grace.
