Acknowledge the Holy Spirit

But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. John 16:7

Most Christians talk about Jesus coming into their heart…and Jesus being with them. Luke wrote about Jesus speaking to the Sanhedrin before His crucifixion and then resurrection… But from now on THE SON OF MAN WILL BE SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND of the power OF GOD. Luke 22:69. From now on…of course until He comes back.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.  So the way I see it is that Jesus is in Heaven, seated at the right hand and He is pretty busy up there building a house for His bride, the church. It is just like the Jewish custom of the bridegroom preparing a home for his bride.  In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:2-3. So as the verse in John 16:7 says…Jesus went away and sent the Helper—the Holy Spirit—to be with us…to be our Helper and Intercessor. Unlike when the Holy Spirit came briefly to people in the Old Testament, He remains with us—a constant companion. With the grace of God and the help of the Holy Spirit we are sanctified—set apart for His purpose—holy. For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification. So, he who rejects this is not rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you. 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8.  So believers, it the Holy Spirit within you…within me…that we should be recognizing and acknowledging.

Prayer ~ Holy Spirit, Thank You for coming into the hearts of all who acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God…and accept God’s gift of grace.
