Remember

Remember the word that I said to you, 'A slave is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me. John 15:20-21

Persecution. That is not something any of us look forward to. We hear about it happening to Christians in other countries--and to some people here in the US. Mostly we are secure in our own little home--safe and snug--going about our business, attending church and Bible studies as we like. No one watching us...or are they? No paranoia here--no threats or beatings if you carry your Bible anywhere you want or share the gospel with someone on the street. Freedom. Freedom of speech. Thank you, Lord, for the freedom we have here. Please bless the USA and help us to continue to be free and strong. If God is for us, who can be against us.

RSVP: Jesus is reminding us that we are not greater than Him--or His Father. We will be persecuted. Can you recall that "greater is He who is in me than he that is in the world"? How will you respond to Jesus' message today?

Prayer ~ Dear Jesus, I ask that more people would be inspired to desire to learn more about God--more about You, and that our Heavenly Father would give them the desires of their heart. There is nothing better in life than to know God more deeply. Give us strength to endure persecution when it ocomes.
