Do You See Hate?

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates Me hates My Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well. John 15:22-24

The world hated Jesus…so as He spoke to them it convicted them of their sin. Now they have no excuse for their sin. If you don’t know what it means to do wrong, to sin, are you sinful? Is it wrong?  Human nature because of Adam and Eve’s actions is to sin. Until we are sanctified…set apart by salvation through Jesus and changed by our desire to be obedient to God…then we just keep on sinning. Sanctification is a process—it happens instantly—but it continues to change the person, renewing their mind so that they become more like Christ. These people that Jesus was speaking of here in John 15 were not seeking Him or the Heavenly Father…they were of the world with no excuse for their sin. No one has an excuse for sin…no matter what. Sin is sin. Repentance will take away the sin—but there still may be consequences for that sin. Hate puts up a barrier—a wall between the person and God. That wall keeps the sin and hate on the same side as the person, separating them from God. Do you have a wall between you and God?

RSVP:  Jesus doesn’t accept excuses for sin. Sin is sin. He offers salvation and restoration to those who repent; to those who keep His commandment. How will you respond to His offer today?

Prayer ~ Dear Jesus, I don’t hate You or Your Father. Please show me mercy as I come before You humbly repenting of my sins, my mistakes today. God, You alone are worthy of my praise and honor to bring You Glory.
