No one will
take your joy away from you! Joy occurs 182 times in the NASB version of the
Bible. That is a lot of joy. Here are a few from Psalms to encourage us to have
joy in our hearts and lives.
-
You will make known to me the path of life; in Your
presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forever. Psalms 16:11
-
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain
me with a willing spirit. Psalms 51:12
-
For You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your
wings I sing for joy. Psalms 63:7
-
For You, O LORD, have made me glad by what You have
done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands. Psalms 92:4
-
O come, let us sing for joy to the LORD, let us
shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Psalms 95:1
-
I have inherited Your testimonies forever, for they
are the joy of my heart. Psalms
119:111
The joy of
the Lord is my strength…as in Nehemiah 8:10, for just as it says in Philippians
4:13, I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Can I...? Suffer—yes.
Encourage—yes. Rest and Restore—yes. Have joy in times of sorrow—yes. All things?
Yes, I think I can because I know that Jesus will never leave me or forsake me…and
He will be there to always give me joy and strength. Do you know that He is
there for you, too? Are you willing to accept His help? Can you be filled with
His joy?
RSVP: Jesus is inviting you to be filled with His joy—to sing
praises to Him. How will you respond to Him today?
Prayer ~ Dear Jesus, please restore to me the joy of
Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit. A spirit willing to submit
to you and to be obedient to your calling. I can do all things through You, as
You give me the strength. Thank you for loving me enough to die for me, that I
can live for You.
Happy Father's Day!
