Wedding Feast of the Lamb

Meditate. Consider the Banquet in the Kingdom of God!

Then I heard again what sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder: "Praise the LORD! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself. She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear." For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God's holy people. And the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb." And he added, "These are true words that come from God." Revelation 19:6-9

It will be a glorious meal—the wedding feast of the Lamb! Those saved during the Tribulation (see Revelation 7:13-14) will be wearing white clothes—of pure white linen—with no spots or wrinkles. For linen—that is a feat in itself! Linen wrinkles very easily. Paul wrote of this to the church at Ephesus when he compared the marriage relationship to that of Christ and His church.

For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God's word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. Ephesians 5:25-27

When will this Banquet take place? When?? The time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb. This same “feast” is referred to in Matthew 22. The time referred to in this Revelation passage is…

After this, I heard what sounded like a vast crowd in heaven shouting, "Praise the LORD! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God." Revelation 19:1

After “this” is after the destruction of Babylon (see Revelation 18). Babylon is fallen! When? Only God the Father knows for sure. It is His plan and He has it set in motion.

However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. Mark 13:32

We don't know the hour or the day.
Be prepared...be ready.
Wait.
So, we must just wait—wait…For the time (to) come for the wedding feast of the Lamb…. Our goal should be for more people to accept Christ as their Savior…so that there will be more people at the wedding feast of the Lamb. As you strengthen your relationship with the Lord others will see that and want Jesus Christ in their lives, too. Be strong. Be ready. Be prepared.

Prayer ~ Lord God, I will be strong and courageous, because I put my hope in You, LORD! From Psalm 31:24. My hope is for a banquet table filled with family, friends and fellow Christians. May it be so.

Verse of Salvation ~ I say to myself, "The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!" The LORD is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the LORD. Lamentations 3:24-26

Bible Trivia  ~ Where was Abram when he first worshipped the Lord? Near Bethel and Ai.

Abram traveled through the land as far as Shechem. There he set up camp beside the oak of Moreh. At that time, the area was inhabited by Canaanites. Then the LORD appeared to Abram and said, "I will give this land to your descendants." And Abram built an altar there and dedicated it to the LORD, who had appeared to him. After that, Abram traveled south and set up camp in the hill country, with Bethel to the west and Ai to the east. There he built another altar and dedicated it to the LORD, and he worshiped the LORD. Genesis 12:6-8
