Listen to this message from the LORD, you nations of the world; proclaim it in distant coastlands: The LORD, who scattered his people, will gather them and watch over them as a shepherd does his flock. Jeremiah 31:10
The shepherd can be considered as one who is the ruler or teacher of his flock, possibly being associated with being a friend or associate. Jeremiah is relaying God’s message to the people of Judah that they need to Listen to this message from the Lord…. It was a message of hope. God would gather His people together and they will sing for joy and worship Him. Look at what has happened in Israel in the last seventy years. God has gathered His people together from all corners of the earth—amazing that the prophesy has come to pass. He continues to promise them that He will watch over them as a shepherd does his flock. God still cares about His chosen people…and all those who love Him. He hasn’t forgotten His promise.
As we see the variety of flowers of May Day…may we remember that it is God who created those flowers and we should worship Him in spirit and in truth. Just as Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well…But the time is coming—indeed it's here now—when true
worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is
looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those
who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth." John 4:23-24
The time is still here now…to truly
worship God spiritually. God is spirit. We cannot see or touch Him…but He is
real and wants us to have a growing and dynamic relationship with Him. What are
you doing today to honor Him with your time and energy as you focus on your
connection with Him?
Prayer ~ Lord God, I praise You and thank you for being our shepherd, for Your love and caring for each one of us who loves and serves You. I marvel at the variety of plants, especially the flowers, that You created. Praise God, from whom all blessing flow!
Verses of Salvation ~ And God never said to any of the angels, "Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet." Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation. Hebrews 1:13-14

Answer of the Week: What is the Sabbath?
The Sabbath day was initiated when the Hebrew people were gathering
manna in the wilderness.
He (Moses) told them, "This is
what the LORD commanded: Tomorrow will be a day of complete rest, a holy
Sabbath day set apart for the LORD. So bake or boil as much as you want today,
and set aside what is left for tomorrow." So they put some aside until
morning, just as Moses had commanded. And in the morning the leftover food was
wholesome and good, without maggots or odor. Moses said, "Eat this food
today, for today is a Sabbath day dedicated to the LORD. There will be no food
on the ground today. You may gather the food for six days, but the seventh day
is the Sabbath. There will be no food on the ground that day." Exodus
16:23-26
Then when God
gave Moses the Ten Commandments He specifically set the seventh day of the week
as the Sabbath.
Remember to observe the Sabbath day
by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the
seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the LORD your God. On that
day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and
daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners
living among you. For in six days the LORD made the heavens, the earth, the
sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the
LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy. Exodus
20:8-11
The Jewish people still observe Saturday as the Sabbath Day. Some Christian groups, like the Seven Day Adventists, also observe Saturday as the Sabbath. Other Christians recognize Sunday, the day Jesus rose from the dead, as the Sabbath and worship day.
