Meditate.
The LORD of Heaven's Armies will protect his people, and they will defeat their enemies by hurling great stones. They will shout in battle as though drunk with wine. They will be filled with blood like a bowl, drenched with blood like the corners of the altar. On that day the LORD their God will rescue his people, just as a shepherd rescues his sheep. They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown. How wonderful and beautiful they will be! The young men will thrive on abundant grain, and the young women will flourish on new wine. Zechariah 9:15-17 (Underlined for emphasis.)
The Lord…will protect his people…rescue his people, just as a shepherd rescues his sheep. Sheep are not very smart animals. If they fall in the water, especially if their wool is long, there is a huge risk of them drowning. That may seem like a lot of ifs, but that is why the twenty-third Psalm stresses the Lord, the shepherd, leading His sheep by peaceful, quiet waters. Sheep are also prone to following one another without looking ahead…and they will follow the sheep right ahead of them, even if it is off a cliff, into an abyss, or a wadi, which is a gulley that fills with water quickly during a flash flood in the desert. That is a very dangerous situation. Again, the sheep is sure to drown if the shepherd is not nearby to save it.
When the shepherd rescues his
sheep…or the Lord rescues His people...they will thrive and flourish. When people
are loved and respected they do just that. They thrive, flourish, and grow in
stature spiritually, just was noted in the Old Testament about Samuel and in
the New Testament describing the Lord Jesus as a young men.
Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God
and all the people. Luke 2:52
Growing in wisdom is good.
Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true wisdom. All who
obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever! Psalm 111:10
As we all grow in God grace and wisdom, respecting Him (with fear), we will sparkle like jewels in a crown. Wonderful and beautiful!
Prayer ~ Lord God, I ask this
prayer for my family and friends….
Ever since I first heard of
your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God's people everywhere,
I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God,
the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and
insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your
hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope
he has given to those he called--his holy people who are his rich and glorious
inheritance. Ephesians 1:15-18 Glorious!
Wonderful and Beautiful!

Verses of Salvation ~ “First I
predicted your rescue, then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world.
No foreign god has ever done this. You are witnesses that I am the only
God," says the LORD. Isaiah 43:12 (Underlined for emphasis.)
