The Great Shepherd

Meditate.

Now may the God of peace—who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21

Lily - a flower of peace.
Jesus is the Great Shepherd—well known for equipping and teaching His followers everything…every good thing…that is pleasing to God the Father. Peace. Peace, like love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are all fruits of the Spirit. God gives us His peace…He is peace. The author of Hebrews is telling us that God the Father’s will is that for which we are to strive. Jesus taught the same thing. He came to do His Father’s will.

For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will. And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. For it is my Father's will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day. John 6:38-40

Do you seek to do God’s will…not your own? What impact does this make in your relationship with Jesus…with God?

Prayer ~ Heavenly Father, For You are not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God's holy people.  From 1 Corinthians 14:33. I seek to know Your will in my life…and to please You in all that I think, say and do. Glory be to God. All glory to him forever and ever!

Verse of Salvation ~ How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns! Isaiah 52:7
