Repent?

From then on Jesus began to preach, "Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." Matthew 4:17

Jesus began to preach. He continued on His journey to the Cross. His message was the same as John’s. Repent of your sin…the Kingdom of Heaven in near. The message is the same today. Repent of your sin…the Kingdom of Heaven in near. The message has been the same for all years. Repent of sin. Turn to God. A simple, humbling act. Turn to God. Jesus spoke to a group of followers…

About this time Jesus was informed that Pilate had murdered some people from Galilee as they were offering sacrifices at the Temple. "Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than all the other people from Galilee?" Jesus asked. "Is that why they suffered? Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God. And what about the eighteen people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem? No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too." Luke 13:1-5.

The message was the same…repent of your sin. The importance of repenting was blatantly obvious. Repent or perish. I’ve heard several times that to repent is to agree with God. God already knows everyone’s sin. We just agree with Him that we have sinned—For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Romans 3:23. Have you repented of your sin?

Prayer ~ Teach me, Lord. Be sure I know and understand Your glorious standard that I would live in a way that pleases You in my every thought, word and action.
