Perfect Promises

God's way is perfect. All the LORD's promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection. For who is God except the LORD? Who but our God is a solid rock? God is my strong fortress, and He makes my way perfect. 2 Samuel 22:31-33

Only God is perfect…or can make things perfect.

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2.

Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. James 1:17.

God keeps His promises. They are not secrets…but are public and through the ages He continually reminds His people and His followers that He is a promise keeper.

I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found. I, the LORD, speak only what is true and declare only what is right. Isaiah 45:19.

The Lord God keeps His promises—even the one that kept Him on His journey to the Cross.

Remember that Christ came as a servant to the Jews to show that God is true to the promises He made to their ancestors. He also came so that the Gentiles might give glory to God for His mercies to them. That is what the psalmist meant when he wrote: "For this, I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing praises to your name." Romans 15:8-9.

Do you keep your promises to your family, friends, work associates and neighbors?

Prayer ~ Lord God—You are a God of Your word—You have kept Your promises. Please continue to give me wisdom and insight into You will and Your way for You are my rock. May You make my way perfect—that others would see Jesus shining through my life.
