The
LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded. He shot
arrows and scattered His enemies; His lightning flashed, and they were
confused. Then at the command of the LORD, at the blast of His breath, the
bottom of the sea could be seen, and the foundations of the earth were laid
bare. He reached down from heaven and rescued me; He drew me out of deep waters.
He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and were too
strong for me. 2 Samuel 22:14-18
Just like David and the Israelites—the Lord
has rescued me. My enemies are His enemies. He has saved me from my sins...even
from my bad attitude. Sin—that enemy of all people is what started Jesus down
the road to the Cross. He sees our imperfect choices…and loves us anyway. Love
so great that He gave up His life…and endured the painful death on the Cross—for
us. He came down from Heaven just to rescue us.
What or who are your enemies? When has the
Lord rescued you from your enemies?
Prayer
~ Lord God…in my distress I cried out to You; yes, I cried to my God for help. You
heard me from Your sanctuary in Heaven; my cry reached Your ears. 2 Samuel
22:7. Thank You, Lord, for rescuing me from my enemies—the greatest of which is
myself. Help me to make wise choices—to choose to live in a way that honors
You.
