Praise the Lord

Praise the LORD! Let all that I am praise the LORD. I will praise the LORD as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath. Don't put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there. When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them. But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the LORD their God. Psalm 146:1-5

We won’t forget Pearl Harbor. The devastation and heartache drawing the United States into a war that some would like to forget—but we will remember that the Lord is with us always…in 1941 and in 2016. He will never leave us or forsake us. He promised.

This advent season is a joyful and hopeful time of the year. Look at little children as they see the colorful, wrapped packages accumulate under the Christmas tree. Sparking decorations on the trees—matched only by the sparkle in those children’s eyes. Hope. They have hope. Hope that within those packages their dreams will be fulfilled. Their little hearts are filled with joy as they anticipate giving gifts they’ve made for their parents, siblings, friends and other relatives. They anticipate joy and hope of meals with special treats. Joy with the songs of the season. Let all that we are praise the Lord!

Prayer ~ Lord, may we keep our eyes on You during this Holy Season…and always, as long as we live. May our joyful songs give You praise and honor, for You are worthy. Our hope is in You.
