So even though wisdom is better than
strength, those who are wise will be despised if they are poor. What they say
will not be appreciated for long. Ecclesiastes 9:16
Think about the wisest person that you
know. Is your high level of respect for them due to their great wisdom or their
position in life? Teacher? Professor? Inventor? Pastor? Doctor? Author?
Political Leader? Homeless or living in a mansion? Do you totally listen to
them? How long do you appreciate what they say? Do you treasure their wisdom
in your heart? Wisdom knows no boundaries. God gives wisdom to the rich and the
poor. Have you asked Him for wisdom lately? Do you share your wisdom with
others and do they appreciate the wisdom that God has given to you? Wisdom is better than strength. Strength can fail like shifting sand. What good is it to be strong and foolish?
Prayer
~ Lord, Your wisdom is greater and better than strength. Grant me wisdom that I
may use it to encourage others. May they see You working in my life and if they
don’t know You as their Savior, may they be inspired to seek You for
themselves. You have promised that if we seek You with all of our heart, we
will find You. Just as David told his son, Solomon: "And Solomon, my son,
learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve Him with
your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows
every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake
him, he will reject you forever.” 1 Chronicles 28:9. I praise You for opening
my eyes and my heart to know You more deeply—intimately. Know my plans, and
guide me that I would serve You and please You forever.
The
one thing I ask of the LORD—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of
the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD's perfections and
meditating in His Temple. Psalm 27:4.
