Wisdom Lights

How wonderful to be wise, to analyze and interpret things. Wisdom lights up a person's face, softening its harshness. Ecclesiastes 8:1

Light. Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life."  John 8:12. It is Jesus’ face that shines—and allows our hearts to shine for Him. We merely reflect His glory. For God, who said, "Let there be light in the darkness," has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6. In His grace and mercy God allows us to be transformed into the image of His Son. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image. 2 Corinthians 3:18.

I long for that day when I see Jesus face to face. May I reflect His glory—even now, although I feel pitifully unworthy. Life is a series of choices—and I feel that I haven’t always made the most encouraging choices in response to confrontations—even with a seven-year old. Same story…same song—new verse. Not exactly walking in Jesus’ wisdom and light. How are you doing with reflecting Jesus’ light?
Prayer ~ Dear Lord, I want to be wise, to analyze and interpret things. I want my face to light up—reflecting Your glory—softening the harshness made by poor choices—the wrinkles of time spent in ways other than worshiping You. God, unite me with Christ Jesus—wisdom itself. Purify my heart, take away my sin —not just cover it up. Let me be right with You, pure and holy (1 Corinthians 1:30). I praise You—my Lord, my Savior, my King, my God.
