After Joseph interpreted the dreams of
other jail prisoners and then of Pharaoh he was highly regarded by everyone in
Egypt. Especially by Pharaoh who made Joseph second in command in all the
country. Pharaoh recognized that Joseph was filled with God’s spirit…with the
Holy Spirit. That infilling gave Joseph wisdom and knowledge above all others. God
had a plan in sending Joseph to Egypt. He was sold—like a slave by his
brothers, but God had a plan. A famine in the land of Palestine and in Egypt
was real and Joseph had the plan—inspired by God the Holy Spirit—to feed the
people during those years of draught. Those that came for food included his own
family—his brothers that sold him into slavery. God had a plan.
God has a plan for you. It may not include
a trip to Egypt—but a famine can be of something besides lack of food. Don’t
let the famine be one that keeps you from God’s Word—from feeding at His Table.
Look to God for solutions to your problems. Just remember God’s promise to
Jeremiah…For I know the plans I have for
you" -- this is the LORD's declaration -- plans for your welfare, not for
disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 HCSB.
Prayer
~ Holy Spirit, please give me, my family, friends, and neighbors inspiration,
wisdom and knowledge that we would live lives holy and pleasing to You. Continue
to reveal Your plan for each of us and guide us, helping us to make good
decisions.
